SilverBench explained…
At a glance
- A free browser CPU test—JavaScript rendering, with no installation or GPU acceleration.
- Photon mapping calculates the scene's lighting. Web Workers share the rendering across CPU cores.
- Web Workers share the rendering across CPU cores.
Choose a test
- Benchmark (P): one frame for a quick performance check.
- Extreme (X): ten frames with a moving light for a longer run.
- Stress (S): continuous rendering for cooling and stability checks.
Fair comparisons
- Higher scores mean faster rendering. Compare the same test using the same browser and operating system, with other work paused.
- Use
+and-to adjust the worker count.
Explore SilverBench

That's a lot of rays!
- One tera ray is one trillion rays—a lot of virtual light for a pair of spheres!
- The sidebar estimates the total rays traced across SilverBench runs. Your CPU helps grow that number.
